Launched at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1993 the Aston Martin DB7 was introduced as the companies new GT car and went on to become a huge success until its replacement by the DB9 in 2004. Designed by Ian Callum and Keith Helfet the DB7 was originally launched with a 6 cylinder engine producing 335bhp, however in 1999 the 5.9 litre V12 Vantage was launched producing 420bhp and 440lb/ft of torque and was an instant hit. Despite only subtle differences aesthetically the original bodyshell was stiffened, the suspension re-developed and the braking system overhauled to accommodate the increase in power.
